Chilean Cobalt appoints Ash Lazenby to board of directors
Chilean Cobalt Corp. (OTCQB: COBA) announced the appointment of Ash Lazenby to its board of directors, according to a company press release.
Lazenby brings eight years of experience from Glencore, where he worked in finance and global cobalt trading functions in Switzerland before moving to New York as a senior critical minerals trader. In his New York role, he managed the North American cobalt business and expanded the lithium portfolio.
At Glencore, Lazenby's responsibilities included spot trading, long-term structured contracts, and strategic investments in battery supply chain companies. He established and maintained trading partnerships with Tesla and General Motors.
Before joining Glencore, Lazenby worked as a natural resources sector sell-side analyst covering companies ranging from small caps to major diversified miners. He also has investment banking experience in capital raising and mergers and acquisitions for resources companies.
Lazenby holds a Master of Physics from Oxford University.
Chilean Cobalt focuses on the La Cobaltera cobalt-copper project in northern Chile. The company describes itself as a critical minerals exploration and development company based in the United States.
