Centuri Holdings Inc. (NYSE: CTRI) completed its separation from Southwest Gas Holdings Inc. on September 5 when Southwest Gas sold its remaining 27,362,210 shares of Centuri common stock. Centuri did not sell any shares and received no proceeds from the transaction, according to a company statement.
Following Southwest Gas' ownership exit, Centuri appointed Christopher Krummel as board chair, effective September 15, 2025. Krummel replaces Karen Haller, who resigned from the board's compensation committee but remains a board member. Krummel has served on Centuri's board since the company's initial public offering in 2024 and brings over 30 years of financial executive experience in the energy and construction industries.
"We enter this new chapter as a fully, standalone public company with confidence and clarity, and we are optimistic about what we can achieve," said Christian Brown, president and CEO of Centuri.
Centuri operates as a utility infrastructure services company that partners with regulated utilities to build and maintain energy networks across the United States and Canada. The company went public in 2024 while Southwest Gas maintained ownership until this recent divestiture.
Krummel stated he is "honored to take on this role" and that the board remains "committed to guiding Centuri with integrity, agility, and a clear focus on sustainable success."
