Cenovus Energy shareholders approve board nominees at annual meeting

Cenovus Energy Inc. (TSX: CVE) (NYSE: CVE) reported voting results from its annual shareholder meeting held on May 6, 2026. Shareholders elected all 14 management-nominated directors to the board, with support ranging from 95.28% to 99.44%.
Frank J. Sixt received the lowest approval rate at 95.28%, while Keith M. Casey garnered the highest support at 99.44%. Other elected directors include Alexander J. Pourbaix, Jonathan M. McKenzie, and Jane E. Kinney, among others.
Shareholders reappointed PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as the company's auditor with 99.67% approval. The firm received 1,558,110,600 votes in favor, with 5,190,808 votes withheld.
An advisory resolution on executive compensation passed with 97.39% shareholder support. The non-binding vote received 1,496,668,184 votes in favor and 40,164,666 votes against.
The Calgary-based integrated energy company operates oil and natural gas production facilities in Canada and the Asia Pacific region, along with upgrading, refining and marketing operations in Canada and the United States.
The voting results were detailed in the company's 2026 Management Information Circular dated March 10, 2026, according to the press release statement.
