Celcuity adds Secura Bio CEO Charles Romp to board of directors

Celcuity Inc. (NASDAQ: CELC) announced the appointment of Charles R. Romp to its board of directors. Romp brings over 25 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, including leadership roles in oncology sales and commercial organizations.



Romp currently serves as chief executive officer of Secura Bio, a commercial-stage pharmaceutical company focused on oncology therapies. He previously held the position of executive vice president of commercial operations in the U.S. at Seagen Inc., where he was part of the executive committee and managed the company's commercial organization before its acquisition by Pfizer.



During his tenure at Seagen starting in 2010, Romp oversaw the growth and expansion of several oncology products including ADCETRIS, PADCEV, TUKYSA, and TIVDAK. Prior to Seagen, he held senior sales leadership positions at Genentech Inc., managing oncology and immunology products such as AVASTIN, RITUXAN, and XOLAIR.



Brian Sullivan, Celcuity's chief executive officer and co-founder, stated that Romp's commercial expertise will provide valuable insight as the company advances its programs and prepares for potential approval and launch of gedatolisib.



Celcuity is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing targeted therapies for oncology. The company's lead therapeutic candidate, gedatolisib, is a pan-PI3K and mTORC1/2 inhibitor currently being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials for breast cancer treatment. The VIKTORIA-1 trial has completed enrollment, while the VIKTORIA-2 trial is currently enrolling patients.



Romp holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida and an MBA from Saint Leo University in Florida.
