"I am honored to join the CASI Board as the company embarks on a pivotal new chapter with a sharpened U.S. focus and a commitment to rapidly advance clinical development of CID-103 in autoimmune diseases and antibody-mediated rejection in solid organ transplants," Huang said.
David Cory, CASI's chief executive officer, stated that Huang's global perspective and proven ability to scale companies will be valuable as the CID-103 anti-CD38 program progresses in clinical trials.
In connection with Huang's board appointment, Panacea Venture plans to acquire up to approximately 1.5 million newly issued shares of CASI common stock from the company in a registered transaction. Panacea Venture is currently a CASI shareholder.
CASI is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing CID-103, an anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody for organ transplant rejection and autoimmune diseases. The company is conducting a Phase 1/2 study in immune thrombocytopenic purpura and received FDA clearance for a Phase 1/2 study in renal allograft antibody-mediated rejection.
