BlackRock Inc. (NYSE: BLK) announced that its board of directors elected Gregg R. Lemkau to serve as an independent director on January 27, 2026.
Lemkau currently serves as Co-Chief Executive Officer of BDT & MSD Partners, a merchant bank with advisory and investment operations, a position he has held since 2023. He previously led MSD Partners as CEO from 2021 to 2023, before the firm became part of BDT & MSD.
Before joining MSD Partners, Lemkau worked at Goldman Sachs, where he served as Co-Head of the Investment Banking Division and was a member of the firm's Management Committee.
The company stated that neither Lemkau nor his immediate family members are involved in any related person transactions that require reporting under securities regulations. BlackRock will assign him to board committees after reviewing current committee composition. Until then, he will rotate through each board committee.
Lemkau will receive compensation through BlackRock's standard program for non-employee directors, according to the company's statement.
