BitMine names Chi Tsang CEO and adds three board directors

BitMine Immersion Technologies Inc. (NYSE American: BMNR) announced Chi Tsang has been appointed chief executive officer and board member, succeeding Jonathan Bates. The company also appointed three independent directors: Robert Sechan, Olivia Howe, and Jason Edgeworth.

Tsang, the new CEO, stated that blockchain and Ethereum present transformation opportunities for Wall Street similar to the mobile phone and internet impact on telecommunications and technology in the 1990s.

Robert Sechan, founder of NewEdge Capital Group and CEO of NewEdge Wealth, joins as an independent director. Jason Edgeworth, asset manager for JPD Family Holdings, and Olivia Howe, chief legal officer at RigUp Inc., also join as independent directors.

The appointments are effective immediately, according to the company's statement.

Thomas "Tom" Lee serves as chairman of the board. Former CEO Jonathan Bates commented on the company's growth from startup to NYSE-listed status and described the journey as remarkable.

BitMine operates Bitcoin and Ethereum mining facilities in Trinidad, Pecos, Texas, and Silverton, Texas. The company focuses on cryptocurrency accumulation for long-term investment through mining operations and capital raising transactions.

The company's business lines include Bitcoin mining, synthetic Bitcoin mining, hashrate financial products, advisory services, and Bitcoin consulting for public companies seeking cryptocurrency-denominated revenues.
