Birchcliff Energy adds former Alberta minister to its board

Birchcliff Energy Ltd. (TSX: BIR) has appointed Rebecca Schulz to its board of directors, effective Aug. 5, 2026, according to a press release from the Calgary-based oil and natural gas company.



Schulz currently serves as Vice President, Regulatory and External Affairs at Whitecap Resources Inc. She previously served as Alberta's Minister of Environment and Protected Areas as a Member of the Legislative Assembly for Calgary Shaw, with responsibilities covering energy, emissions policy, land planning, and water management. She was first elected to the Alberta Legislative Assembly in 2019 and also held ministerial portfolios for Municipal Affairs and Children's Services.



Schulz holds a Master's Degree in Communication from Johns Hopkins University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Saskatchewan.

Birchcliff is an intermediate oil and natural gas company focused on the exploration and development of the Montney Resource Play in Alberta.
