BetterLife Pharma names Charles Duncan as director and audit chair

BetterLife Pharma Inc. (CSE: BETR) (OTCQB: BETRF) (FSE: NPAU) has appointed Charles Duncan, PhD, as a director and chair of its audit committee, the Vancouver-based biotechnology company announced.



Dr. Duncan has nearly 30 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including roles as a biotechnology analyst at Cantor Fitzgerald, Piper Jaffray and JMP Securities. During his Wall Street career, he initiated research coverage on more than 175 biotechnology companies, evaluated over 200 investment banking transactions and served as senior vetting analyst on approximately 25 initial public offerings.



He currently serves as Managing Director and Head of Biotech Strategy and Development at Gilmartin Group and sits on the board of directors of Vanda Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Duncan holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a concentration in Neuropharmacology from the University of Colorado and has completed executive education in audit committee governance at Harvard Business School.



In connection with the appointment, BetterLife has agreed to grant Dr. Duncan stock options to purchase 500,000 common shares, with quarterly vesting over 24 months and a 10-year term. An additional 125,000 stock options, with a 10-year term and vesting over three months, will also be granted. Exercise prices for both grants will be set in accordance with Canadian Securities Exchange policies.



BetterLife is developing BETR-001, a non-hallucinogenic LSD derivative in preclinical and IND-enabling studies, for the treatment of migraine and headache disorders.
