Better Home & Finance adds Orange Capital founder to its board

Better Home & Finance Holding Company (NASDAQ: BETR) announced changes to its board of directors, effective July 27, 2026, according to a press release from the company.
Daniel Lewis, founder and managing partner of Orange Capital, has been appointed to the board. Lewis founded Orange Capital in 2005 after beginning his career at Citigroup and currently serves as its chief executive officer. The company noted that Lewis is also a significant shareholder of Better.
Vishal Garg, founder and chief executive officer of Better, said in a statement that Lewis's "experience in operational execution, capital markets, and regulated industries will strengthen our Board and help guide the Company's next phase of growth."
Separately, David Barse stepped down from the board on the same date to pursue new opportunities. The company stated that Barse's departure was not the result of any disagreement with the company on any matter relating to its operations, policies, or practices.
