Best Buy appoints Riot Games CEO Dylan Jadeja to board

Best Buy Co. (NYSE: BBY) appointed Dylan Jadeja, chief executive officer of Riot Games, to its board of directors effective immediately, according to a company statement.



Jadeja has served as CEO of Riot Games since July 2023 and has been part of the video game company's executive team for more than a decade. Riot Games, founded in 2006, develops and publishes video games including "League of Legends."



Prior to becoming CEO, Jadeja held several leadership positions at Riot Games, joining as chief financial officer in 2011 and later serving as president. Before Riot Games, he worked in the Consumer Retail Coverage team at Goldman Sachs.



"Dylan's expertise in consumer brands, digital commerce and serving passionate global player communities will bring critical enhancements to our Board," said Corie Barry, Best Buy's chief executive officer.



Jadeja said he was "honored to have the opportunity to join such a trusted, mission-driven brand that has connected deeply with consumers for nearly 60 years."



The appointment adds gaming industry experience to Best Buy's board as the electronics retailer continues its digital transformation efforts.
