Bausch + Lomb names Appio as chairman, reshapes board committees

Bausch + Lomb Corporation (NYSE: BLCO) has appointed Thomas J. Appio as Chairman of the Board, succeeding Brent Saunders, who will remain a board member, according to an amended Form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The change took effect August 10, 2026, following an initial filing on August 6, 2026, which reported the resignation of certain board members and the appointment of Appio, Robert Chersi, Laurence Paul, M.D., and Barbara Trebbi to the board, effective August 5, 2026.

As of August 10, 2026, the board also appointed Dr. Paul as Lead Independent Director. Several additional committee assignments were made on the same date. Chersi was appointed to the Audit and Risk Committee and the Talent and Compensation Committee. Dr. Paul was appointed to the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and the Science and Technology Committee. John A. Paulson was named chair of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, Eduardo Alfonso, M.D., was named chair of the Science and Technology Committee, and Trebbi was named chair of the Talent and Compensation Committee.

Following these changes, the board committees are composed as follows:

Audit and Risk Committee: Sarah B. Kavanagh (Chair), Robert J. Chersi, and Russel C. Robertson.

Science and Technology Committee: Eduardo Alfonso, M.D. (Chair), Nathalie Bernier, and Laurence Paul, M.D.

Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee: John A. Paulson (Chair), Sarah B. Kavanagh, and Laurence Paul, M.D.

Talent and Compensation Committee: Barbara J. Trebbi (Chair), Robert J. Chersi, and Russel C. Robertson.
