BNY elects McKinsey veteran Vikram Malhotra to its board

The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (NYSE: BNY) announced that its board of directors has elected Vikram Malhotra as an independent director, effective October 1, 2026. The addition brings BNY's board to 12 directors, 11 of whom are independent.

Malhotra has been a senior partner at McKinsey & Company since 1998, having joined the firm in 1986. During his tenure, he served as Chairman of the Americas, sat on McKinsey's Shareholders Council, and led portions of its banking and life insurance practices.

Robin Vince, Chairman and CEO of BNY, said Malhotra's "experience across banking and financial services, combined with his global perspective, will add tremendous value to our Board."

Outside of McKinsey, Malhotra has served on the Wharton Advisory Board since 2021 and previously chaired the Wharton Graduate Executive Board from 2015 to 2021. He currently serves as a Trustee Emeriti of the Asia Society and on the board of Touch Health. He is also co-author of two New York Times bestselling books on leadership.

Malhotra holds an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Economics from the London School of Economics.
