Aston Bay nominates mining executive to board, director exits
Aston Bay Holdings Ltd. (TSXV: BAY)(OTCQB: ATBHF) has nominated Ryan VanEngen to its board of directors, subject to shareholder approval at the company's upcoming annual general and special meeting, according to a press release from the Toronto-based mineral exploration company.
VanEngen holds a Master of Science in Aquatic Toxicology from the University of Guelph and has more than 20 years of experience in environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and ESG strategy in Canadian mining, with a focus on northern jurisdictions including Nunavut. He is the founder and CEO of Sustainable Solutions Consulting Group (2SG Inc.) and previously spent 12 years at Agnico Eagle Mines in environmental permitting roles. He also teaches environmental management in mining at the University of Toronto.
Concurrently, director Jessie Liu-Ernsting has advised the company she will not stand for re-election, citing additional responsibilities with her employer. CEO Thomas Ullrich thanked her for her service, noting her "capital markets insight and disciplined governance."
Aston Bay also announced the grant of incentive stock options to acquire 3,100,000 common shares at an exercise price of $0.05 per share. The options carry a five-year term and vest in thirds — one-third on the grant date and one-third on each of the first two anniversaries of that date. The options were granted to certain officers, directors, employees, and consultants.
Aston Bay explores for copper, zinc, silver, and other metals in Nunavut, including the Storm Copper Property and the Epworth Property. The Storm Project is held through a joint venture in which American West Metals holds an 80% interest and Aston Bay holds 20% with a free carried interest until a mine decision is reached.
