Astec Industries adds Atkore CEO Bill Waltz to its board

Astec Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASTE) has appointed William "Bill" E. Waltz as an independent director to its board of directors, effective October 29, 2026, according to a press release from the company.



With the addition of Waltz, the board will expand to 10 directors, nine of whom will be independent. Waltz will serve on the board's Compensation Committee.



Waltz has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Atkore, Inc. (NYSE: ATKR) since 2018 and holds a seat on Atkore's board of directors. Before assuming that role, he served as President of Atkore's Electrical Raceway/Electrical Products division from 2013 to 2018. From 2009 to 2013, he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Strategic Materials, Inc. Earlier in his career, he held positions across multiple divisions of Pentair plc and began his professional career at General Electric Company and as a management consultant at Deloitte.



Mark Gliebe, Chairman of Astec's board, said, "Bill has public company Chief Executive Officer experience and a strong record of leading companies through organic and inorganic growth."



Astec manufactures specialized equipment for asphalt road building, aggregate processing, and concrete production, operating through two business segments: Infrastructure Solutions and Materials Solutions.
