Applied Energetics adds retired army general to advisory board

Applied Energetics Inc. (OTCQB: AERG) appointed Brigadier General (Retired) Samuel "Luke" Peterson to its advisory board, the company announced September 25.



Peterson served nearly 35 years in the U.S. military, most recently as Program Executive Officer for Combat Support & Combat Service Support, where he managed 248 acquisition programs with annual budgets exceeding $3 billion. He led a team of over 1,100 personnel in that role.



The retired general held senior positions at U.S. Special Operations Command, the Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office, and Army Contracting Command. As Deputy Director for Strategic Planning at RCCTO, he oversaw more than $5.2 billion in prototyping efforts for technologies including hypersonics, high-energy lasers, and high-power microwave systems.



"His extraordinary leadership, deep acquisition expertise, and hands-on experience delivering next-generation capabilities to the battlefield are perfectly aligned with our mission to rapidly develop and field game-changing USPL and directed energy solutions for the Department of Defense," said Chris Donaghey, CEO of Applied Energetics.



Peterson currently serves as President of Alpha2Omega Consulting Solutions LLC. He holds advanced degrees from the Naval Postgraduate School and the Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy.



Applied Energetics specializes in ultrashort pulse laser and directed energy technologies. The Tucson-based company holds 27 patents with five patents pending for its laser systems designed for defense applications.
