Algo Grande Copper sets annual meeting, adds mining geologist to board
Algo Grande Copper Corp. (TSXV: ALGR) will hold its annual general meeting on February 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. PST in Vancouver, British Columbia, according to a company statement.
Shareholders will vote to elect directors, including the appointment of Dr. Raymond Jannas to the board of directors. The company has also nominated Kevin Ma, Timothy McCutcheon and Gordon Neal for re-appointment as directors. Bradley Scharfe's term as director will end at the meeting.
Dr. Jannas brings over 40 years of experience as an economic geologist specializing in hydrothermal mineral systems, including porphyry copper-gold deposits. He previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of ATEX Resources and held senior roles with Gold Fields, Barrick Gold, LAC Minerals, Hochschild Mining, and Metallica Resources. He holds a Ph.D. in Economic Geology from Harvard University.
During his tenure at ATEX Resources, Dr. Jannas led exploration efforts that resulted in discoveries including the Valeriano porphyry copper-gold project in Chile. He also contributed to the advancement of deposits including Pascua-Lama and El Morro.
Hunter Scharfe, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Juno Industries, has been nominated as a new director. He previously served as Senior Advisor to BTQ Technologies (NASDAQ: BTQ) and as a Partner at Paterson Partners.
Enrico Gay, the company's Chief Executive Officer, stated that Dr. Jannas's experience in Latin America and hydrothermal systems aligns with the company's Adelita Project operations.
Algo Grande Copper operates the Adelita Project, a 5,895-hectare copper exploration property located in the Arizona-Sonora copper belt. The project includes the Cerro Grande copper-gold-silver discovery.
Proxy materials for the meeting have been filed on SEDAR+ and mailed to registered shareholders. The company encourages shareholders unable to attend in person to submit proxy forms.
