Alamar Biosciences adds former Grail CEO to board, expands team

Alamar Biosciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALMR) announced the appointment of Bob Ragusa to its board of directors, along with two additions to its executive leadership team.
Ragusa most recently served as chief executive officer of Grail, a multi-cancer early detection company, and previously as chief operating officer of Illumina. He brings more than two decades of experience in genomics, diagnostics, and biotech.
"I believe the future of disease detection lies in multi-marker testing using proteins, which reflect what is happening in the body in real time," Ragusa said in the statement.
Alamar also named John Brottem as general counsel. Brottem previously served as general counsel of Outset Medical, Inc. and held senior legal roles at Omnicell, Inc.
Amelia Merrill joined as chief people officer. She previously served as Senior Vice President, People at Guardant Health, Senior Vice President, People Strategy at RMS, and Vice President, People Operations at Outset Medical, as well as senior roles at VeriSign, webMethods, and Juniper Networks.
Alamar Biosciences is a Fremont, California-based proteomics company. The announcements were made according to a company press release.
