ALX Oncology names new board chairman and general counsel

ALX Oncology Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ALXO) announced the appointments of Scott Garland as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Michael Listgarten as General Counsel, both effective immediately, according to a company press release.

Garland succeeds co-founder Corey Goodman, Ph.D., who is stepping down as Chairman and a member of the Board after more than a decade with the clinical-stage biotechnology company. Garland has served on the ALX Oncology board since November 2022 and brings more than 30 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience.

Goodman commented on the transition: "Scott is a highly respected leader with a strong track record and I am confident that, under his guidance, the Company will continue to execute at this pivotal stage of growth and deliver long-term value to our stockholders."

Listgarten joins with more than 30 years of combined law firm and in-house legal experience advising biopharmaceutical companies. He most recently served as General Counsel at RAPT Therapeutics and previously held roles at Adamas Pharmaceuticals and Principia Biopharma. He also spent 16 years at Genentech, Inc. Listgarten holds a J.D. and Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania.

Chief Executive Officer Jason Lettmann said Listgarten's "deep domain expertise across complex transactions, governance, and public company matters will be crucial" as the company advances its pipeline programs, including evorpacept and ALX2004, an EGFR-targeted antibody-drug conjugate currently in Phase 1 trials.
