Yelp Inc. (NYSE: YELP) announced a partnership with DoorDash (NASDAQ: DASH) to power ordering and delivery services on its platform, according to a company statement. The collaboration provides Yelp users access to more than 500,000 merchants through DoorDash's delivery network.

The partnership begins October 1 and allows diners to use Yelp's restaurant reviews and discovery tools before transitioning to DoorDash to place orders and track deliveries. Users can access DoorDash's merchant inventory directly through Yelp's platform.

"Millions of people come to Yelp every day to find a restaurant, and we're thrilled to give them even more choice and convenience when they want to order takeout and delivery," said Chad Richard, senior vice president of business and corporate development at Yelp.

Brian Hale, chief growth officer at DoorDash, stated the partnership connects "two leading platforms in local commerce, making it easier than ever for diners to discover, decide, and ultimately get their meals delivered."

For restaurants not available on DoorDash's marketplace, Yelp will maintain existing delivery partnerships to preserve ordering options for users.

Yelp operates a platform connecting consumers with local businesses through reviews and business information. DoorDash provides delivery services across over 30 countries through its marketplace and commerce platform.
