XORTX Therapeutics adds Depesh Narotam to its board
XORTX Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: XRTX | TSXV: XRTX) announced the appointment of Depesh Narotam to its board of directors as an independent director, effective July 27, 2026.
Narotam, 43, has also been appointed to serve on the company's Compensation, Governance and Nominating Committee. The board determined that he qualifies as an independent director under applicable Nasdaq listing standards and Canadian securities laws.
Narotam has worked in financial services for more than 20 years, with a focus on debt financing and mortgage lending. Since December 2020, he has served as a Mortgage Development Manager at Vancity, a British Columbia-based credit union. Prior to that role, he spent 16 years at Westminster Savings Credit Union, now known as Prospera Credit Union, where he held positions including Mortgage Specialist and Business Development Manager.
XORTX is a pharmaceutical company with clinical-stage programs targeting gout and progressive kidney disease, including its lead program XRx-026 for the treatment of gout.
