XA Investments LLC announced Tom McCabe has joined the Chicago-based alternative investment management firm as Director of Regional Sales. McCabe will focus on expanding distribution efforts for the company's interval fund and closed-end fund products on the East Coast.
McCabe brings more than 15 years of financial services experience, most recently serving as a Sales Executive for RIA, DCIO and Retirement Plans at Vanguard. In previous roles, he developed relationships with registered investment advisors in the Southeast region and managed product offerings including mutual funds, exchange traded funds, and separately managed accounts.
Kevin Davis, Managing Director and Head of Sales & Distribution at XA Investments, said the hire supports the firm's expansion amid continued demand for interval funds. "His extensive product sales experience and ability to cultivate strong client relationships will be a great asset to our firm," Davis stated.
In his new role, McCabe will support distribution efforts for XA Investments' interval fund, the Octagon XAI CLO Income Fund (OCTIX), with particular focus on East Coast markets. The firm also manages two listed closed-end funds: XAI Octagon Floating Rate & Alternative Income Trust (NYSE: XFLT) and XAI Madison Equity Premium Income Fund (NYSE: MCN).
McCabe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from Bucknell University and maintains FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses. XA Investments was founded by XMS Capital Partners in 2016 and provides investment advisory services along with fund structuring and consulting services for registered closed-end funds.
