X-FAB names COO Damien Macq as new CEO, effective February 2026

X-FAB Silicon Foundries (BOURSE: XFAB) announced that Chief Operating Officer Damien Macq will become Chief Executive Officer on February 6, 2026, succeeding Rudi De Winter.

De Winter, who has served as CEO since 2014 and Co-CEO since 2011, will step down from his executive role but remain on the Board of Directors. The Board unanimously appointed Macq to the position, and he is expected to join the Board pending shareholder approval at the April 2026 Annual Shareholders' Meeting.

Macq joined X-FAB as COO in April 2023, overseeing the company's operational capabilities and capacity expansion. Prior to X-FAB, he served as Vice President and General Manager at Melexis' Sense and Light business unit and held executive roles at semiconductor companies including ST-Ericsson, ON Semiconductors, GlobespanVirata, and Alcatel.

The 58-year-old executive holds engineering and PhD degrees from UCLouvain in Belgium and completed Stanford's Executive Program in 2006. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and former chair of the IEEE Benelux section.

X-FAB operates as a specialty foundry with six wafer fabrication facilities in Malaysia, Germany, France, and the United States. The company focuses on analog/mixed-signal technologies, microsystems/MEMS, and silicon carbide, serving automotive, industrial, and medical markets. X-FAB employs approximately 4,300 people and has traded on Euronext Paris since April 2017.

The leadership transition follows a comprehensive succession planning process conducted by the Board of Directors, according to the company's statement.
