WM Technology appoints two directors, makes CFO permanent employee

WM Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: MAPS) announced the appointment of Harry DeMott and Brent Cox to its board of directors, effective February 1, 2026. The cannabis marketplace and technology solutions provider also said Chief Financial Officer Susan Echard will transition from a contracted arrangement to employment with the company, effective January 30, 2026.
DeMott serves as General Partner of Raptor Ventures, which he co-founded, and is part of the founding group at Outsider Labs, an AI startup. He previously founded and served as CEO of Proper, a cannabis industry data company, and has served on public company boards including Workhorse Group Inc. and Achari Ventures Holdings Corp. DeMott holds an economics degree from Princeton University and an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business.
Cox is the founder and managing principal of Subtext Holdings, a private investment firm focused on high-growth emerging markets and regulated industries. He co-founded The Inception Companies, a private investment firm, and currently serves on the board of Ispire Technology (NASDAQ: ISPR). Cox previously served on cannabis company boards including MedMen, Sunday Goods, and Sherbinskis. He began his career in the Leveraged Finance Group at Jefferies & Co. and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Southern California.
WM Technology operates Weedmaps, a cannabis marketplace for consumers, along with eCommerce and compliance software solutions for cannabis businesses and brands. The company was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in Irvine, California.
