WISeSat.Space joins FOSSA Systems Series B financing round

June 25, 2026 3:25 AM EDT

WISeKey International Holding Ltd. (Nasdaq: WKEY) announced that its WISeSat.Space Corp. subsidiary has participated in a Series B financing round for FOSSA Systems, S.L., a Spain-based aerospace and defense company specializing in small-satellite development, launch, and operations for Low Earth Orbit communications and radio-frequency applications.

The investment builds on a partnership that began in 2021, when WISeKey first worked with FOSSA on small-satellite platforms for secure IoT communications from Low Earth Orbit. WISeSat.Space said it has gained access to 25 launched LEO satellites through partner-operated missions, with 8 currently in operation.

WISeKey Founder and CEO Carlos Moreira said in a statement: "FOSSA has been a key industrial partner in the early development of WISeSat's satellite capabilities, providing critical technical expertise and flight heritage as we established our initial presence in low Earth orbit."

FOSSA CEO Julián Fernández said the company "welcomes WISeSat's continued support as part of our Series B financing round and looks forward to exploring further cooperation around small-satellite infrastructure, secure communications and future mission capabilities."

WISeSat operates within WISeKey's broader ecosystem, which includes SEALSQ Corp. (Nasdaq: LAES), a subsidiary focused on semiconductors, public key infrastructure, and post-quantum technology. SEALSQ has outlined plans for a Quantum Spatial Orbital Cloud initiative that would use WISeSat satellite capacity, though the company noted that any such use remains subject to definitive agreements, technical validation, financing, and regulatory approvals.

The investment amount was not disclosed. FOSSA, founded in 2020 and headquartered in Madrid, is deploying a planned constellation of 140 satellites to provide global IoT coverage.
