Volatus Aerospace partners with KHA on Canadian drone surveillance

Volatus Aerospace Inc. (TSX: FLT, OTCQX: TAKOF, Frankfurt: ABB.F) has announced a strategic partnership with Kraus Hamdani Aerospace, Inc. (KHA) to introduce long-endurance autonomous aircraft and airborne communications technology into Canada, according to a press release.

Under the agreement, Volatus becomes KHA's Canadian Strategic Partner, with plans to deploy KHA's K1000ULE ultra-long-endurance electric aircraft and its Aerial Tier Network Extension (ATNE++) communications system. The partnership covers systems integration, operator training, lifecycle support, and a roadmap for licensed domestic manufacturing at Volatus' facility in Mirabel, Québec.

The K1000ULE has logged more than 6,000 operational flight hours supporting U.S. military and allied missions and has completed a non-stop flight exceeding 75 hours while carrying mission payloads. The aircraft is designed to carry electro-optical, infrared, and communications payloads over large and remote areas.

The companies said the platform is intended to support Canadian wildfire management by providing continuous fire perimeter mapping, thermal hotspot detection, firefighter tracking, and communications relay. Potential applications also include Arctic operations, emergency management, public safety, and defence.

"Wildfires are ultimately an information challenge before they become a suppression challenge," said Glen Lynch, Chief Executive Officer of Volatus.

Fatema Hamdani, Chief Executive Officer of KHA, said the K1000ULE "was purpose-built for continuous operations over large and remote environments" and that Volatus brings the "operational expertise, industrial capability and long-term vision needed to make that possible."

Volatus said it has begun engaging federal and provincial governments, regulators, and emergency management agencies to evaluate requirements and demonstration opportunities. Any Canadian deployment remains subject to regulatory approvals and the completion of technical evaluations.

The company described this announcement as the second milestone in a broader initiative to build a sovereign Canadian autonomous intelligence capability, with additional elements expected to be announced as the program advances.
