Visteon Corporation (NASDAQ: VC) demonstrated production specifications of its High-Performance Compute solution built on Qualcomm Technologies' Snapdragon Cockpit Elite platform at an automotive technology showcase in Las Vegas on January 8.
The solution consolidates multiple electronic control units into a single platform designed for centralized vehicle architectures. The technology utilizes Qualcomm's Oryon CPU and Adreno GPU, delivering what the company states is 3X the performance and 12X the AI processing capability compared to previous cockpit platforms.
The system includes Visteon's cognitoAI Concierge digital assistant, which uses the company's QWEN 7B model to provide personalized content and services. Additional features include multi-user capabilities for device sharing and gaming, support for 24+ speakers with Dolby Audio, and individual user profiles.
The platform enables automakers to use a common architecture across different vehicle lines while reducing the number of electronic control units, according to the company's press release statement.
"This High-Performance Compute solution addresses a critical challenge our OEM partners face as they transition to centralized architectures," said Uday Dodla, Vice President of Product Management at Visteon. "By consolidating multiple ECUs into a single, powerful platform, we're enabling automakers to reduce complexity and costs while delivering the sophisticated AI-driven experiences that consumers increasingly expect."
Mark Granger, VP of Product Management at Qualcomm Technologies, said the demonstration highlights momentum toward centralized, software-defined architectures for connected vehicles.
Visteon, headquartered in Van Buren Township, Michigan, reported $3.87 billion in annual sales for 2024 and secured $6.1 billion in new business contracts. The company operates in 17 countries with a network of innovation centers and manufacturing facilities.
