VisionWave demonstrates SaverOne's RF sensing platform in Italy
VisionWave Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: VWAV) announced it conducted a demonstration of SaverOne's Vulnerable Road User radio-frequency sensing platform in Italy before a commercial vehicle manufacturer.
The demonstration showed the platform's ability to detect pedestrians in scenarios where they were hidden behind vehicles and in darkness conditions. The system provided visual indicators on a vehicle's central screen and audible alerts when pedestrians were detected, escalating to red warning indicators when collision risks were identified.
The RF-based technology analyzes interactions from mobile devices carried by pedestrians to detect their presence even when they are outside direct line-of-sight, according to the company. This differs from traditional camera, radar or LiDAR systems that require visual contact.
VisionWave and SaverOne (NASDAQ: SVRE) have a strategic exchange agreement under which VisionWave may acquire up to approximately 51% of SaverOne upon achieving specified milestones and regulatory approvals.
"The system detects human presence and movement where cameras and the human eye cannot — providing earlier awareness and more time to react," said Dr. Danny Rittman, Chief Technology Officer of VisionWave.
The company stated it is evaluating applications beyond automotive safety, including transportation infrastructure, security environments, and potential defense applications for unmanned systems. SaverOne's technology has completed proof-of-concept testing.
VisionWave plans to work with SaverOne's engineering team to advance development and assess commercialization pathways, initially focusing on automotive and transportation markets. The technology is protected by issued and pending patents.
