Vallourec appoints David Clarke as new board director
Vallourec announced that its board of directors has appointed David Clarke as a new board member, replacing Keith James Howell at the request of ArcelorMittal. The appointment was made during a board meeting on February 26, 2026.
Clarke will also serve as a member of the Nominations and Governance Committee. The ratification of his appointment will be proposed at Vallourec's shareholder meeting scheduled for May 21, 2026.
Clarke joined Mittal Steel in 2003 and has held various strategic positions within ArcelorMittal. He served as the company's chief technology officer from 2016 to 2019 and as head of commercial coordination and marketing from 2019 to 2021. Since 2013, he has been Head of Strategy, responsible for developing medium- to long-term industry outlook and coordinating the group's annual strategy process.
Prior to his career at ArcelorMittal, Clarke worked at McKinsey & Company in London, held academic positions at Princeton, Cambridge and Oxford Universities, and worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories. He holds a PhD and MA in theoretical physics from Princeton University and a BSc in mathematics and physics from the University of Western Australia.
Following Clarke's appointment, Vallourec's board of directors consists of nine members, with 55% women and 63% independent board members, according to the company's statement.
Vallourec is listed on Euronext Paris under the ticker VK (ISIN: FR0013506730) and trades in the United States through a Level 1 American Depositary Receipt program under ticker VLOWY.
