Universal Music Group files for US public offering

Universal Music Group N.V. (EURONEXT: UMG) has confidentially submitted a draft registration statement on Form F-1 to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed public offering of ordinary shares in the United States.

The offering involves shares held by certain existing shareholders, and UMG will not receive proceeds from the sale. The company has not determined the number of shares to be offered or the price range for the proposed offering.

The offering remains subject to completion of the SEC review process and market conditions. UMG is currently listed on Euronext Amsterdam and is headquartered in Hilversum, The Netherlands.

The announcement was made in accordance with Rule 135 under the Securities Act of 1933. The company stated that the press release does not constitute an offer to sell securities and that any future offers will comply with Securities Act registration requirements.
