UScellular to rename itself Array Digital Infrastructure (AD)

July 24, 2025 4:26 PM EDT

United States Cellular Corporation (NYSE: USM) announced it will change its name to Array Digital Infrastructure Inc. following the expected August 1 closing of its wireless operations sale to T-Mobile US Inc.

The company appointed Douglas W. Chambers as interim president and chief executive officer of the post-closing business. Chambers currently serves as executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer at UScellular and has been with the TDS family of companies since 2007.

Following the transaction closure, Array Digital Infrastructure will operate a portfolio of 4,400 owned towers, noncontrolling investment interests and retained wireless spectrum. The company plans to change its NYSE ticker symbol from "USM" to "AD" and will remain headquartered in Chicago.

"Doug brings decades of industry experience and a robust understanding of the company's strategy and overall operations, making him well suited to serve as interim President and CEO," said LeRoy T. Carlson Jr., UScellular board chair.

Chambers stated he looks forward to "working with the Board and our management team to continue to strengthen our tower business, seek opportunities to monetize our retained spectrum, and work towards closing the announced spectrum transactions."

The company will launch a new website and logo as part of the corporate rebranding. UScellular expects its board to approve a special cash dividend ranging from $22.50 to $23.75 per common share following the wireless operations sale closure.

UScellular currently provides wireless services to 4.4 million retail connections across 21 states and employed 4,100 associates as of March 31, 2025. Telephone and Data Systems Inc. (NYSE: TDS) owns approximately 83% of UScellular.
