Trump says had "very good" call with China’s Xi, praises relationship

Investing.com -- U.S. President Donald Trump held a phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday, describing the conversation as "very good" in a post on Truth Social.

The leaders discussed several key issues including the war in Ukraine, fentanyl trafficking, and agricultural trade deals benefiting American farmers.

"We have done a good, and very important, deal for our Great Farmers — and it will only get better. Our relationship with China is extremely strong!" Trump wrote on his social media platform.

During the call, Trump accepted Xi’s invitation to visit China in April. The Chinese leader will make a state visit to the United States later in 2026, according to Trump’s statements.

The U.S. president noted that both leaders agreed on the importance of frequent communication. Their discussion covered Ukraine/Russia relations, the fentanyl crisis, and trade involving soybeans and other farm products.
