Tamboran completes largest drilling program in Beetaloo Basin

October 15, 2025 3:28 PM EDT

Tamboran Resources Corporation (NYSE: TBN) completed its Shenandoah South drilling program in Australia's Beetaloo Basin, which the company said represents the largest drilling program conducted in the region.

The program included batch drilling of three horizontal wells: Shenandoah South-4H, -5H and -6H, each with a target lateral length of 10,000 feet. All three wells have been cased and suspended ahead of stimulation activities, according to the company's statement.

The average drilling time from spud to total depth was 26.7 days across the program, completed within the forecasted 35-day timeframe. Tamboran attributed improved efficiency to new anti-vibration drilling technology from Baker Hughes (NASDAQ: BKR), which enabled the company to drill over 1,100 meters in a single day during the SS-6H well's horizontal section.

The company plans to complete the SS-4H well in the fourth quarter of 2025, using stimulation equipment from Liberty Energy (NYSE: LBRT). The completion will include up to 60 stages across the full 10,000-foot horizontal section within the Mid Velkerri B Shale formation.

Following completion, the SS-4H well is scheduled for a 30-day flow test before being shut-in for future gas sales. The remaining two wells, along with the reinforced SS-3H well, are planned for stimulation in the first half of 2026.

Chairman and Interim CEO Richard Stoneburner stated the wells are intended to supply gas to the Northern Territory network under a long-term Gas Sales Agreement with the Northern Territory Government, with first gas sales targeted for mid-2026.

Tamboran holds approximately 1.9 million net prospective acres in the Beetaloo Sub-basin within Australia's Greater McArthur Basin in the Northern Territory.
