TUYA partners with Robopoet to add cellular connectivity to AI companion
Tuya Smart (NYSE: TUYA, HKEX: 2391) announced a strategic partnership with Robopoet to develop a cellular-connected version of the "Fuzozo" AI companion at CES 2026 in Las Vegas.
The collaboration aims to create what the companies describe as the first AI companion powered by cellular connectivity, enabling the device to function without Wi-Fi dependence. The partnership addresses connectivity limitations that currently affect AI companions when users leave Wi-Fi coverage areas, particularly during travel.
According to The Business Research Company, the global AI companion market reached approximately $18.35 billion in 2025. The cellular-enabled Fuzozo is designed to provide continuous connectivity during commutes, outdoor activities, and international travel.
Tuya will provide its AI Developer Platform and globally distributed cloud infrastructure for the project. The platform handles device connectivity, data communication, and operations management, while Robopoet focuses on AI capabilities and emotional content development.
The companies stated they plan to explore additional intelligent agent technologies built on cloud-edge-device collaboration beyond this initial product development. Tuya operates as a global AI cloud platform service provider, while Robopoet specializes in emotionally intelligent AI technology.
The cellular version of Fuzozo was displayed at Tuya's booth during CES 2026. The companies did not provide specific launch dates or pricing information for the cellular-enabled device.
