TELA Bio names Heather Getz as chief executive officer

TELA Bio, Inc. (NASDAQ: TELA) has appointed Heather Getz as chief executive officer and director, effective Aug. 4, 2026, according to a company statement. She succeeds Antony Koblish, co-founder of the Malvern, Pa.-based medical technology company.

Getz most recently served as executive vice president and chief financial and operations officer at Butterfly Network, Inc. (NYSE: BFLY). Before that role, she was executive vice president and chief financial and administrative officer at BioTelemetry, Inc., where the company's market capitalization grew from $50 million to $2.8 billion before Philips Healthcare acquired it in 2021. She has also held executive positions at Healthy io, VIASYS Healthcare Inc., and Alita Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

"I am honored to join TELA Bio at such an exciting time in the Company's evolution," Getz said. "I am excited to partner with our talented employees, leadership team, customers, and Board to build on that momentum, accelerate commercial execution, strengthen customer relationships, and expand our impact."

Joseph Capper, chairman of the board, cited Getz's background in operational and financial transformations. Koblish, who co-founded TELA Bio and led the development of its OviTex product line, said he is confident in the leadership transition.
