Swarmer and Brightline sign MOU for drone AI and interoperability

Swarmer, Inc. (Nasdaq: SWMR) and Brightline Interactive, a subsidiary of The Glimpse Group (Nasdaq: GGRP), have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop drone autonomy and interoperability technology for U.S. defense applications, according to a press release issued July 27, 2026.

The agreement combines Swarmer's swarm autonomy software with Brightline's SpatialCore platform, which enables autonomous systems, AI agents, sensors, and digital twins to operate from a shared understanding of the physical environment. The two companies plan to pursue joint research and development, technology integration, and shared business opportunities through Brightline's existing contracting vehicles with the U.S. Department of War.

Under the terms of the MOU, Swarmer will contribute its autonomy and swarm coordination software. Brightline will integrate that software with SpatialCore to broaden access to real-world operational data for AI model training. Brightline will also provide its data and communications interoperability layer and leverage its established U.S. defense contracting relationships.

Swarmer states its technology has supported more than 100,000 combat missions in Ukraine since April 2024. The company is headquartered in Austin, Texas, with operations in Ukraine, Poland, and Estonia.

"Combining SpatialCore with Swarmer's platform could provide access to operational data from virtually any drone, including manufacturers not yet integrated with us," said Alex Fink, President and U.S. CEO of Swarmer.

Tyler Gates, President and CEO of Brightline Interactive, said integrating Swarmer's coordination software with SpatialCore's interoperability layer would expand the volume and quality of real-world operational data available for AI model training.

Brightline holds Cooperative Research and Development Agreements with the Department of War and serves as a prime contractor through an Other Transaction Authority agreement with the U.S. Navy. SpatialCore is built on open data standards supported by Nvidia and Apple.
