Surf Air Mobility names Shawn Pelsinger to board

Surf Air Mobility Inc. (NYSE: SRFM) announced the appointment of Shawn Pelsinger to its board of directors, effective October 8, 2025.

Pelsinger currently serves as chief legal officer and chief administrative officer of Acrisure, a financial technology provider. He previously worked at Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) for 10 years as global head of corporate development and senior counsel, where he helped establish the strategic relationship between Surf Air Mobility and Palantir in 2021.

During his tenure at Palantir, Pelsinger contributed to the creation of Skywise, a data platform for the commercial aviation industry developed through a partnership between Palantir and Airbus. He also led business deals with companies including Korea Telecom, Fujitsu, and Credit Suisse.

Pelsinger maintains board positions at two Palantir subsidiaries: Palantir Technologies Japan, K.K., where he was appointed in July 2024, and Palantir Korea, LLC, where he has served since September 2022.

Before joining Palantir, Pelsinger practiced law at Shearman & Sterling LLP. He has served as an adjunct professor at Columbia Law School since 2013 and currently advises early-stage technology companies.

The appointment comes as Surf Air Mobility develops SurfOS, its software operating system powered by Palantir's AI and Foundry platforms. The Los Angeles-based company operates as a regional air mobility platform and commuter airline.

"Having previously collaborated with the company on its SurfOS software initiatives during my time at Palantir, I've seen firsthand the impact this technology can have on the air mobility industry," Pelsinger said in a statement.
