Spotify and Live Nation Entertainment (NYSE: LYV) announced the launch of Reserved by Spotify, a ticket access program that provides top listeners with early access to concerts by their most-played artists.
The program uses fan engagement data, including streams, shares and listening activity, to identify eligible users. Selected fans receive in-app notifications and emails offering the opportunity to purchase up to two tickets during a limited-time access period before general public sales begin.
Reserved will launch in the United States this summer across select tours before expanding to additional markets and artists. Eligible fans will be determined through Spotify's analysis of their listening patterns and engagement with specific artists.
"Artists are building real fan relationships every day, and live is where those relationships become unforgettable," said Darin Wolf, Global EVP at Live Nation. "Reserved by Spotify gives top listeners another way to get closer to the artists they love, while helping artists create more meaningful moments with the fans who care most."
The partnership connects Spotify's streaming data with Live Nation's concert venues, including amphitheaters, arenas and stadiums. The companies describe the initiative as extending fan relationships beyond streaming platforms into live event experiences.
The program represents a collaboration between the music streaming service and concert promoter to provide artists with access to their most engaged listeners while offering fans alternative pathways to secure concert tickets.
