Sony releases LinkBuds Clip open earbuds for $229.99

Sony Electronics Inc. announced the LinkBuds Clip Truly Wireless Open Earbuds, priced at $229.99 USD and $299.99 CAD. The clip-style earbuds feature an open design that allows users to hear their surroundings while listening to audio.

The earbuds include three listening modes accessible through tapping controls. Standard mode provides audio quality for music, Voice Boost mode amplifies voices for noisy environments, and Sound Leakage Reduction mode reduces audio spillage in quiet spaces. The C-shaped design fits around the ear without entering the ear canal.

Technical features include DSEE upscaling technology, 360 Reality Audio support, and a customizable 10-band equalizer available through Sony's Sound Connect app. The earbuds incorporate AI-based noise reduction and a bone conduction sensor for voice calls.

Battery life extends up to 37 hours with the charging case, while a 3-minute quick charge provides one hour of playback. The earbuds carry IPX4 water resistance and support multipoint connection for switching between devices.

The LinkBuds Clip are available in black, greige, green, and lavender colors through Sony.com, Amazon, Best Buy, and other retailers. Optional case covers and fitting cushions retail for $24.99 in coral, green, blue, lavender, and black colors.

Sony stated that approximately 20% of the plastic used in the earbuds consists of recycled material, with packaging designed without plastic materials.
