Sony launches WF-1000XM6 wireless earbuds with enhanced noise canceling

Sony Electronics Inc. announced the release of its WF-1000XM6 truly wireless noise canceling earbuds, featuring a 25% reduction in noise compared to the previous WF-1000XM5 model. The company also introduced a Sand Pink color option for its WH-1000XM6 over-ear headphones.

The WF-1000XM6 earbuds incorporate the HD Noise Canceling Processor QN3e and Integrated Processor V2, along with four microphones on each earbud compared to three on the predecessor model. The earbuds feature an adaptive noise canceling optimizer that analyzes external noise and wearing conditions in real time.

Sony collaborated with Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated sound engineers including Randy Merrill from Sterling Sound, Chris Gehringer from Sterling Sound, Mike Piacentini from Battery Studios, and Michael Romanowski from Coast Mastering to develop the sound profile. The earbuds support Hi-Res Audio Wireless, DSEE Extreme, and 360 Reality Audio compatibility.

The earbuds include enhanced call quality features with two microphones and a bone conduction sensor on each side, using AI beamforming noise-reduction algorithms. The design is approximately 11% slimmer than the previous model and includes improved Bluetooth connectivity with antennas 1.5 times larger than the predecessor.

Battery life provides up to 8 hours of listening on a single charge and up to 24 hours with the charging case. The earbuds support Qi wireless charging and are ready for LE Audio, a next-generation Bluetooth audio standard.

The WF-1000XM6 earbuds are available in Platinum Silver and Black for $329.99 USD and $429.99 CAD. The WH-1000XM6 headphones in Sand Pink are priced at $459.99 USD and $599.99 CAD. Both products are available through Sony, Amazon, Best Buy, and other authorized dealers.
