Siemens and IFS form strategic partnership targeting manufacturers
Siemens and IFS announced a strategic partnership on June 29, 2026, aimed at connecting engineering and operational data for manufacturers using industrial AI.
The partnership combines Siemens Digital Industries Software's digital twin, manufacturing execution, and automation capabilities with IFS's enterprise asset management and field service platforms. The two companies said they plan to create a closed-loop digital twin that links design intent with real-world asset performance data.
According to a press release, the collaboration targets persistent operational challenges for manufacturers, including unplanned downtime, disconnected maintenance schedules, siloed production data, and supply chain disruption.
Tony Hemmelgarn, president and chief executive officer of Siemens Digital Industries Software, said: "Industrial AI only delivers value when it is grounded in both engineering intent and real-world performance. Together with IFS, we are bringing these domains together by connecting design, manufacturing and asset lifecycle data in a secure, contextualized data fabric."
Mark Moffat, chief executive officer of IFS, said: "Manufacturers need their factory floor to behave the way it was designed. This partnership with Siemens brings together two companies that each own a critical piece of the puzzle."
Siemens AG (Frankfurt: SIE) reported revenue of €78.9 billion and net income of €10.4 billion in fiscal year 2025, which ended September 30, 2025. The company employs approximately 318,000 people worldwide. IFS, founded in 1983, employs more than 7,000 people across 80 countries.
