ServiceNow and IBM expand partnership for enterprise AI deployment

ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW) and IBM (NYSE: IBM) announced an expanded collaboration to help enterprises deploy artificial intelligence at scale by modernizing legacy systems and unlocking enterprise data.

The partnership combines IBM's AI, data and automation capabilities with the ServiceNow AI Platform to address what the companies identify as barriers to enterprise AI adoption: outdated systems and data accessibility challenges.

The collaboration will create joint solutions across three areas: application modernization using tools including IBM Bob and watsonx.data, enterprise data governance that extends ServiceNow Workflow Data Fabric with IBM watsonx.data, and autonomous infrastructure operations integrating Red Hat Ansible and other IBM tools into ServiceNow IT workflows.

"Most enterprises have the ambition to deploy agentic AI, but lack the foundation to run it at scale," said John Aisien, senior vice president and general manager, central product management, security and risk at ServiceNow. "IBM brings the tooling to modernize the systems and extend ServiceNow's data capabilities."

Raj Datta, vice president of ISV and AI partnerships at IBM, said the collaboration aims to build "an open, flexible foundation for AI that can scale across operations and deliver real business value."

The companies stated these joint solutions are expected to be available in the second half of 2026. The press release noted that statements regarding future direction represent goals and objectives only and are subject to change.

The announcement builds on existing partnerships between the two technology companies as they compete in the enterprise AI market alongside other major technology providers.
