Sachem Capital names Jeffery Walraven permanent chief financial officer

Sachem Capital Corp. (NYSE American: SACH) appointed Jeffery C. Walraven as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective September 1, 2025. Walraven had served as interim CFO since December 2024 and resigned from the company's board of directors, where he served since August 2024.



"We are pleased to have completed our search for a Chief Financial Officer with the appointment of Jeffery Walraven to the permanent role," stated John L. Villano, President and Chief Executive Officer. Villano noted Walraven's public company and financial markets experience and his contributions to the company's financial controls and processes.



Walraven brings experience from private and public real estate companies. He served as Chief Operating Officer, director and co-founder of Freehold Properties, Inc., a REIT providing net lease financing to specialty agricultural real estate. He has served as an independent director and audit committee member of Broad Street Realty, Inc. (OTCQX: BRST) since October 2023.



From January 2014 to May 2019, Walraven served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of MedEquities Realty Trust, Inc., a healthcare REIT that was sold to Omega Healthcare Investors, Inc. in May 2019. He has over 20 years of public accounting and consulting experience, working with public real estate companies on SEC reporting matters, acquisitions, dispositions and securities offerings since 1999.



Walraven holds a Bachelor's degree in Financial Management from Bob Jones University and a Master's of Professional Accountancy from Clemson University. He maintained an active CPA license from 1994 to 2016 in multiple states.



Sachem Capital is a mortgage REIT that originates and manages loans secured by first mortgages on real property, primarily offering short-term secured loans to real estate investors.
