SMAIO appoints spine surgeon to US scientific advisory board
SMAIO (Euronext Growth Paris: ALSMA), a French-American spine surgery company, announced the appointment of Dr. Tenner Guillaume to its US scientific advisory board. Dr. Guillaume is an orthopaedic spine surgeon specializing in spinal deformity at Gillette Children's Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.
The appointment expands SMAIO's US scientific advisory board to four North American surgeons. Dr. Guillaume joined the pediatric surgery group at Gillette Children's Hospital in 2011 and is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society, the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
SMAIO previously appointed Dr. Donald J. Blaskiewicz, a neurosurgeon at St. Luke's Clinic in Boise, Idaho, in February 2025. The board also includes Dr. Brian Neuman and Dr. Camilo Molina, both from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
As compensation, Dr. Guillaume will receive up to 25,000 share subscription warrants issued at €3.70 per unit. Each warrant allows subscription to one ordinary share at €6.50, representing approximately 0.44% of the company's current capital. The warrants are part of SMAIO's strategy to preserve financial resources while compensating advisory board members.
The company designs spine surgery solutions including KEOPS, a data management software platform with over 100,000 documented patient cases. SMAIO also offers the I-Kontrol platform, which incorporates planning, implants and related services for spine surgeons.
Based in Lyon, France, SMAIO employs more than 40 specialized staff and is developing what it describes as an active robotic solution for spine surgery.
