Ryanair signs five-year cloud and AI deal with Google

Ryanair (NASDAQ: RYAAY) has entered into a five-year partnership with Google Cloud, under which the airline will deploy Google Workspace and Google Cloud services across its workforce of 35,000 employees.

The agreement includes the rollout of Gemini Enterprise, Google Cloud's AI platform, which Ryanair said it plans to use to automate decision-making, optimize flight crew logistics, and support corporate productivity. The partnership is part of what Ryanair described as a dual-cloud strategy aimed at improving infrastructure resilience.

Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson said: "To support this growth, we need to ensure we have excellent infrastructure resilience, and our new dual-cloud strategy provides this, alongside technology partners that match our speed and relentless focus on efficiency."

Under the deal, Ryanair also plans to use Google DeepMind models, including AlphaEvolve and WeatherNext, to assist with fleet operations and maintenance scheduling. Google Workspace will replace the airline's existing collaboration systems with a cloud-focused platform.

The airline stated the technology deployment is intended to support its target of carrying 300 million passengers by 2034, up from its current scale of operations across its European network.
