Roche names new diagnostics North America chief, effective Aug. 1
Roche (SIX: RO, ROG; OTCQX: RHHBY) announced the appointment of Dan Malarek as President and CEO of Roche Diagnostics North America, effective August 1, 2026, according to a company statement.
Malarek currently serves as CEO of Foundation Medicine Inc., an independent affiliate of the Roche Group. He joined Roche in 2007 and has held various leadership roles within the company, including Head of Marketing and Business Development in Diabetes Care, Lifecycle Leader in Molecular Diagnostics, General Manager of Roche Diagnostics Norway, and Global Head of Marketing and Customer Insights for Roche Diagnostics.
Malarek will succeed Brad Moore, who is retiring at the end of July after nearly 10 years with Roche. The role will be based at Roche Diagnostics' North America headquarters in Indianapolis and will report to Matt Sause, Global CEO of Roche Diagnostics.
Concurrent with Malarek's transition, Foundation Medicine Chief Operating Officer Vera Grossmann has been appointed interim CEO of Foundation Medicine, also effective August 1, while a search for a permanent successor is underway.
Roche also announced the appointment of Antonio Vergara as Chief Commercial Officer of Roche Diagnostics U.S., a newly created role also beginning August 1. Vergara, who joined Roche in 1996, will report to Malarek and lead the U.S. commercial organization and its business units. He previously served as President and Head of Diagnostics Latin America and most recently as Senior Vice President of the U.S. Core Lab and Near Patient Care business.
