ReposiTrak and SPAR launch fixed-rate retail merchandising service

ReposiTrak (NYSE: TRAK) and SPAR Group (OTCQB: SGRP) have launched Touchless Retail, an in-store merchandising service that combines professional merchandising with demand-driven automated ordering, according to a press release from the companies.

The service is offered at a fixed rate that the companies claim is typically about 50% less than traditional merchandising programs. Traditional programs often involve variable labor rates, travel expenses and other charges that can make costs difficult to predict.

Touchless Retail supports in-store activities including product placement, shelf replenishment, display maintenance and product rotation. Automated ordering is driven by store-level demand data rather than scheduled visits or manual ordering decisions.

"Getting product into the store is only half the battle. If it isn't on the shelf and properly merchandised, it can't sell," said Randy Fields, chairman and CEO of ReposiTrak. "Touchless Retail brings together demand-driven automated ordering and professional in-store execution so suppliers can improve availability and merchandising while typically spending about 50% less than they would with traditional merchandising programs."

William Linnane, CEO of SPAR Group, said the service delivers execution "through our most productive merchandisers—at a significantly more cost-effective rate."

The companies said suppliers do not need to participate in ReposiTrak's Scan-Based Trading program to use Touchless Retail. The service can be used independently, without changing how suppliers currently transact with retailers.
