Refined Energy adds uranium explorer Ken Wheatley to board
Refined Energy Corp. (CSE: RUU | OTC: RRUUF | FRA: CWA0) announced the appointment of Ken Wheatley to its board of directors and amended its Simard property option agreement with Geomap Exploration Inc.
Wheatley brings 44 years of uranium exploration experience across Canada. He has participated in discoveries at multiple deposits including Cluff Lake, McClean Lake, and Key Lake. Most recently, as Vice President of Exploration for Forum Energy Metals Corp., he discovered uranium showings at Northwest Athabasca. He holds a Professional Geoscientist registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan.
The company also entered into a fourth amendment to its property option agreement with Geomap dated October 10, 2025. The amendment reduces the property from 96 mining claims covering 5,571 hectares to 61 claims covering 3,539 hectares in Quebec's Lac Simard region. The agreement defers certain payment, share issuance, and exploration expenditure obligations.
Under the amendment terms, Refined Energy will issue 50,000 shares to Geomap upon Canadian Securities Exchange approval. The shares will be subject to a four-month hold period under Canadian securities legislation.
The original option agreement was signed December 20, 2022, and previously amended in November 2023, February 2024, and April 2025. It grants Refined Energy the right to acquire up to 100% interest in the mining claims.
Refined Energy operates as a junior mining company focused on mineral properties in North America. The company's primary asset is the Dufferin Project in Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin, with a drill program planned for 2026. It also holds options on the Basin and Milner uranium properties in Saskatchewan.
