Resideo Technologies Inc. (NYSE: REZI) announced the sale of its Grid Services demand response business to EnergyHub, a grid-edge flexibility solutions provider. The transaction was disclosed in a company press release.
The divested business primarily serves utility clients through demand response programs. Resideo stated the sale allows the company to focus on its core strategy of serving professional contractor and integrator customers with residential controls and sensing products.
Following the transaction, Resideo will maintain the ability to control and manage energy loads in homes through integrations between its thermostats and third-party demand response platforms.
EnergyHub operates a platform used by more than 120 utilities serving over 55 million customers. The acquisition expands EnergyHub's capacity to help utilities manage connected devices including thermostats, electric vehicles, and batteries through its Edge Distributed Energy Resource Management System.
"By joining forces with EnergyHub, we will be able to offer our utility clients a broader ecosystem of DERs and leverage our winning platforms and talented team to accelerate the transition to a carbon-free grid," said Dave Oberholzer, General Manager at Resideo Grid Services.
The companies did not disclose financial terms of the transaction. Resideo stated the divestiture has no material impact on its 2025 financial outlook provided on November 5, 2025.
Resideo Grid Services manages or participates in nearly 300 U.S. utility demand management programs and engages in six wholesale energy markets. EnergyHub is a subsidiary of Alarm.com (NASDAQ: ALRM).
Resideo plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes according to its previously stated capital allocation priorities.
