Princess Cruises orders three new ships from Fincantieri

Princess Cruises announced agreements with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri to construct three new cruise ships, with deliveries scheduled for late 2035, 2038, and 2039.

The vessels will be built on a next-generation platform called the Voyager class and will measure 183,000 gross tons, accommodating approximately 4,700 guests. The ships will be constructed at Fincantieri's shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy.

The new vessels will be dual-fuel powered, primarily using Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), similar to Princess Cruises' Sun Princess and Star Princess ships. The Voyager class ships will be the largest by capacity in the Princess Cruises fleet.

"The Voyager class will delight both our loyal guests and attract the next generation of Princess guests," said Gus Antorcha, Princess Cruises President.

Fincantieri CEO Pierroberto Folgiero stated the agreements secure workload for the company's shipyards through 2039 and support development of their cruise business as outlined in their 2026-2030 Industrial Plan.

The three ships will represent Carnival Corporation's (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK) 19th, 20th, and 21st LNG-based vessels. Carnival Corporation, Princess Cruises' parent company, has seven additional new ships under contract scheduled for delivery between 2027 and 2033.

According to the press release, the agreements are valued as "very important," which for Fincantieri represents contracts exceeding €2 billion. The agreements remain subject to financing and other standard terms and conditions.
